the start
This is my first post! I will try to post three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Each day will have a theme: Trip Tuesday, where I will be talking about my travels. Thought Thursday, where I will be sharing my thoughts on things. And Story Saturday, where I will be telling a continuous story.
Trip Tuesdays
Seals!
Today we went on a harbor cruse, it was pretty fun. They talked about all the famous land marks such as the Alfred Basin and the swing bridge. The swing bridge is the same thing as a draw bridge except it swings to the side in stead of drawing up. The swing bridge replaced the penny ferry that saved workers a half an hour walk. The penny ferry only costed a penny but the swing bridge is completely free. Another thing we saw were the cape fur seals.

Weird Things
Would you rather be in a maximum security cell on Robben Island or a cell with 59 other people on Robben Island? Because I would rather do neither. But yes we did see Robben Island, it’s a classic tourist spot. The weird thing here is that prisons don’t look astonishing, they look like a giant run down house. Another thing is that the penguins here are called jackass penguins which is because they bray like a donkey. Here’s a audio file of them:
The Cape of Good Hope
So… my opinions did change. South Africa is actually a quite interesting place. There’s good food at this place called the Mojo Market, and a walk around the city won’t disappoint anyone except your legs and your feet. But my favorite part was when we did a tour to see the Cape of Good Hope. It started with a 2 hour long bus to the Cape of Good Hope. After that, they gave us an hour and a half to do whatever we wanted where we visited the light house at the top of the mountain. Then we tried to visit the light keepers house but ran out of time and had to go back to the bus. We decided we would be kicking ourselves if we went up the mountain then walked half a mile up hill on rocky terrain then went back down the mountain and then didn’t go on a walk on a bunch of wooden planks. Summary, South Africa is a pretty cool place.
Thought Thursdays

I’m gonna be talking about this sign because I think its placed in a bad spot. You can’t see it, but it’s half way up the line, meaning you could of waited hours to get there and had to turn around because of it.
You may have noticed that I’ve made three Thought Thursdays on signs. I’ll try to make posts that aren’t centered around a sign in the future though.

How to Experience All Cape Town has to Offer in One Day
This is a guide on how to experience every thing Cape Town has to offer in one day. The first step is to rent out a car, buy the fast track cable car tickets, and go up and down the mountain. Then drive to Cape Point take a few pictures then head to the wine regions and buy a bottle of wine. Then go to Robben Island. Then go on a plane and head back home.
Story Saturdays
Shipwreck!
As James and Miss Cackleberys went on, it became more apparent that their boat was starting to break. The first sign of it falling apart was when one of the logs that they used to make the boat flew off into the river, then another one did the exact same thing. Soon enough James and Miss Cackleberys were clinging on to one log soaring down the river. Miss Cackleberys was able to shift her weight to get them ashore. Unfortunately they are still very far from where Miss Cackleberys wants them to be so she must figure out how to get there.
It’s A Boat (Kind Of)
It had become clear to Miss Cackleberys that James was not going to be able to walk all the way to where Miss Cackleberys wanted. She wasn’t sure how to get him there until she realized, they were walking right next to a river, they could make a boat! “James!” she snaped.
“What?” James asked.
“Grab some logs were going to make a boat,” instructed Miss Cackleberys.
Neither of them knew how to make a boat, but after some trial and error they made a small raft.
They put it in the water and went down the river both not knowing that the straw they used to put the boat together was slowly coming undone.
Just let me go back
James was quite disappointed when Miss Cackleberys dragged him off out of the village and into the woods. “can we go back to the village now?” he asked
“No,” Miss Cackleberys said.
“But there’s this thing called toktik!” James exclaimed.
“No,” said Miss Cackleberys.
“But on toktik there’s trends like 76 and 14.”
“I’ve had enough of you! We’re going on this trip and that’s final!” shouted Miss Cackleberys.
James could swear that for a second Miss Cackleberys eyes had turned blood red.
